For nearly 20 years, SGCDC has employed a team of street sweepers to clean the Commercial Corridors and interior streets of Spring Garden. SGCDC has long maintained that if a community and business area is dirty and ill-kept, it gives the impression that the neighborhood is crime-ridden, dangerous, and second-rate, which deters investors and patrons of local businesses and cultural institutions. 

The SGCDC also co-sponsors Spring cleanups and Fall leaf cleanups, is a partner in the mayor's Annual Spring City-Wide Cleanup, and is a TreeTender organization, co-hosting semi-annual street tree plantings
