SGCDC has a diverse team of over 20 employees, and Board members, who possess a wide variety of skills, and are dedicated to planning and carrying out ground-breaking community revitalization and economic development programs and projects, and providing a broad array of services for residents and businesses.
The team includes an attorney, historic restoration experts, social service specialists, a child psychologist, teachers, classroom aides, job counselors, Playground staff for overnight, day camp and after-school programs, Corridor Manager/marketing, construction and maintenance employees, and financial counselors, among others.
Many of the SGCDC’s staff members are bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
The SGCDC’s community outreach office at 601 N. 17th St. is open 5 days a week for 9-10 hours a day, with emergency service at night and on weekends to provide assistance to residents. The SGCDC facility also features a walk-in computer lab, and meeting space for community residents other neighborhood organizations, and regular police meetings with the community.
