Multipurpose Community Facility for Parking with Green Space and a Play Area for Small Children

Spring Garden CDC provides a landscaped multipurpose community parking lot with green spaces, a fenced play area for small children, and festive lighting on the Fairmount Ave. side. The lot provides below market-rate convenient parking for residents (including on a monthly basis), patrons of local businesses, participants in events on the River Drives and the Ben Franklin Parkway, and visitors to Eastern State Penitentiary and other nearby museums. Free daytime parking is also provided for employees of a local nonprofit. Every Thursday (except Thanksgiving Day), year-round, the lot hosts a Food Trust Farmers' Market on the entire length of the 22nd Street  sidewalk and southeast corner of the property. The southeast corner of the property also features Spring Garden CDC’s Victorian bus shelter which also serves as an official stop on the PHLASH and Big Bus tourist bus routes.  In addition, the southwest corner of the property hosts a  station for the City of Philadelphia's Indego public bike sharing system; and several parking spots are reserved for a car share program and an EV charging station.
